!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
is that my FR-S is a rare collector’s item now and worth millions?
Okay, who wants to trade their 2000GT for my soon to be extinct Scion FR-S?! ;)

I can’t believe Jalopnik hasn’t posted this yet! I think it’s still too early to write off the 86 since they’re due for a refresh in 2017, Toyota could easily move it to the Toyota line with the refresh and badge it the GT86 as it is in much of the world.

I think Toyota will just absorb all the models, they really all just got refreshes or are new. But none of the Toyota 86s or GT86s, whatever they call them, will say Scion. And with how many kids are crashing these things, mine will be 1 of like 20 in 5 years. Lol

Damn Scion has been around for 13 years?! That makes me feel old.

Could this mean that I could pick up an iA for pretty cheap?
Scion won’t be missed, they lost their edge back in 2008 or so.

Possibly. I’ll be curious what sort of deals they run to get rid of the cars...

The bastard!

Good. Once Scion replaced the OG xB with some anonymous blob, that signaled the pending end of the brand. And to be fair, the FR-S should have been sold as a Toyota anyway. lol

Agreed.

Doesn't this mean there are Scions eligible for antique plates in at least one state? I can't remember which, but I swear I remember Doug talking about a state where an extinct brand and a ten year old car made you eligible.

I’m not sure. In PA it’s 15 years for a classic tag, and 25 years for an antique tag.

Maybe 15 is what I was thinking. Not long then.
